....International Day against
Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
26th June,2009
26 th June every year is observed as“International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”
The Theme/slogan of multi-year campaign for 2007-09 on Drug abuse is
“Do drugs control your life?
Your life, Your Communicty.
No place for drugs”,
with special focus on drug cultivation and production in 2008*
No individual, family or community is safe where illicit drugs take control. Drugs may control the body and mind of individual consumers, the drug crop and drug cartels may control farmers, illicit trafficking and crime may control communities. Drugs destroy lives and communities, undermine sustainable human development and generate crime. Drugs affect all sectors of society; in particular, the young people.
